Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary
& Zoological Gardens
David Critchlow, owner, first envisioned a reptile
park in the mid 80's, beginning with a small habitat for
small cold-blooded animals indigenous to Michigan as
entertainment for his two growing children. Expanding
into tropical exhibits in the 90's, and rescuing reptiles,
especially American Alligators in 2001, David's
collection of reptiles and tropical plants has now
transformed into Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary &
Zoological Gardens, which is now located at
1698 M-66 Athens, Michigan. 49011.
The theme behind Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary is to
create a natural environment similar to those found
throughout the world.
The mission of Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary &
Zoological Garden's is to inspire and educate people to
care for the environment by providing fun and
educational experiences that lead to understanding the
natural world.
